The Monadnock area of New Hampshire is only an evening's drive from Boston, and is a wonderful place to find an old-fashioned country spring.

By midMay, the gardens are a sweep of flowering bulbs -- daffodils, tulips and flowering shrubs. New Hampshire's spring comes in a rush as the days lengthen. By early June the gardens are in full swing with peonies and many classic perennial flowers at their best.

SteppingStones B&B has a special garden patio area for small family events or get-togethers, whether an intimate wedding, garden party, or graduation celebration.

WONDERFUL WALKING -- DOGS WELCOME

Bring along some walking boots and binoculars, to walk and enjoy the spring air and sun. You can walk right out the door on plenty of local dirt roads, take a short hike up Pack Monadnock with your dog, or stroll down to the local reservoir to see geese, ducks and beaver.

Explore Peterborough's art galleries, bookstores and delis, and crafts/antiques stores. Avoid the crowds of summer, take your time and find a treasure to remember New Hampshire by. Peterborough is about a 23 minute drive to the west on Route 101.
