AIR LIKE SPARKLING CIDER The Monadnock area of New Hampshire is only an evening's drive from Boston, and is a wonderful place to find an old-fashioned country fall. Mt. Monadnock region fall weather -- by late September or early October, the weather is turning cool, and New Englands renowned color is touching the trees. By midfall, the gardens are filled with asters and red-fruited shrubs. As the days shorten the migrating birds are heading south, and falling leaves fill the garden paths. The air is like sparkling cider. |

WONDERFUL WALKING Bring along some walking boots and binoculars, to walk and enjoy the fall air and color. You can walk right out the door on plenty of local dirt roads, take a short hike up Pack Monadnock with your dog, or stroll down to the local reservoir to see geese, ducks and beaver. Places
